Going for a walk may sound like the last thing you want to do when you are running low on energy, but did you know that science has proven that it is actually one of the easiest ways to improve physical and mental ultra energy levels? Physical activity has long been a great energizer, but research shows that a simple walk may be the most effective tool of all when looking to get past the mid-day hump or get over those morning blahs.
When you are low on ultra energy, exerting what you have left to walk can seem highly counterproductive. The truth of the matter, however, is that taking a ten minute walk at a brisk pace will leave you feeling renewed and refreshed for up to two hours. This ultra energy effect is greatly increased if you make walks a part of your daily routine as well. Add in the fact that these same walks can be major contributors to an improved overall mood and it is hard to justify continuing to sit there drinking coffee or soda.
We all want to achieve ultra energy when we have a ton of work that needs finishing or want to be able to enjoy a day off, but it can seem nearly impossible to achieve without the assistance of caffeine or supplements. The next time you feel like you don’t have what it takes to make it through the day or even to take one more step, get up and do it anyway. And when that step is finished, take another. And another. Before long, you will realize that you are clear headed and ready to take on the day. Better still, you will realize that you achieved your goal without the need for stimulants that will leave you crashing later and disrupt your sleep at night, leading to a cycle of even more fatigue the next day!
